A Resolution to Legalize Marijuana by Senator Max Berry, Hanover High

Whereas Marijuana is already readily available, and whereas the criminals who are charged and convicted with possession of marijuana are clogging the criminal justice system, and whereas the effects of Marijuana are less severe than the effects of already legal substances, therefore be it resolved that the state of Virginia hereby legalize and make available marijuana to adults over the age of 21.

A Resolution to Repeal U.S. "Don't Ask Don't Tell" Policy

Whereas the U.S. is about tolerance, and the "Don't Ask Don't Tell policy goes against that ideal.

Whereas the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy would scare away men who would readily fight in our armed forces if the policy was nonexistent.

Whereas the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy is discriminatory against homosexuals, and the U.S. does not accept discrimination.

A resolution to repeal the U.S. Military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy

Whereas it would show the american way of tolerance of all people. Whereas it would be an increase in number but not a huge flock of people joining or rejoining. Whereas anyone who wishes to serve their country should be allowed to openly, and not told to keep quiet about topics (unless they choose to keep quiet). Therefore, be it resolved by this Student Congress here assembled that the current policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" be repealed.

A Resolution for the U.S. Direct Intervention in the Mexican Border Chaos

A Resolution to Disapprove of California's Decision to Legalize Marijuana

Whereas marijuana is an illegal and addictive drug, and legalizing it would only increase use and

Whereas younger children would have easier access to this drug and

Whereas more marijuana users would use the drug for recreational purposes instead of medicinal purposes.

A Resolution to Reject Universal Pulic Housing Regardless of Income Level

Whereas recipients of this benefit would not feel the need to work to buy their own residence and

Whereas the U.S. would be unable to find enough space to construct all the various homes and

Whereas the motivation to find and hold a job would be decreased and would have a negative impact on the economy.

A resolution for Virginia not joining California in the legalization of Marijuana.

Whereas by making it legal we are giving in and simply accepting that people use it a lot already. Whereas legalization would decrease the community standard of living. Whereas taxing marijuana would not be effective if everyone could grow it themselves legally. Therefore, be it resolved by this Student Congress that Virgnia does not join California in its' legalization of Marijuana.

Sean Cordrey said...

A resolution to not create a Universal Public Housing plan regardless of income level.

Whereas the people being housed would have no desire to leave or prosper since they are given a free home. Whereas there is nowhere to get the land to build said homing. Whereas it is essentially socialistic. Therefore, be it resolved by this Student Congress here assembled that we do not create a Universal Public Housing plan.

A Resolution for Universal Public Housing - Senator Adam Sykes

Resolved:

The state governments of the United States of America shall install universal housing utilizing a low, flat price and standardized mortgage rates.

Whereas, the US economy will only grow if the American consumer resumes spending.

Whereas, a lower standardized rate will encourage economic growth with a fixed mortgage rate, halting the numerous cases of negative equity.

Whereas, the construction of multimillion dollar homes is detrimental to fiscal expansion, for no one will purchase the homes, and their value will depreciate.

Therefore, let it be resolved that universal housing and standardized mortgage rates be uniformly mandated across the country.
